| Dodgers Prevail, 5-4, Over Chicago | Getting a good performance from right fielder Bobby Bonds, the Yokohama Dodgers defeated the Chicago Federals, 5-4. Bonds was 2-3 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. He scored 2 runs for the Dodgers. Madison Bumgarner, the winning pitcher, improved to 2-1. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 6 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 5. Chicago drops to 6-10.
Matt D Williams delivered a big hit for the Dodgers. The veteran third baseman belted a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fourth. The longball put Yokohama on top, 4-4. Overall, Williams went 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"We take it day by day here," said Bonds, "and today was a good one for us."
