| Browns Take Down Athletics, 6-5 | The St. Louis Browns picked up a win at Sportsman's Park, taking down the Kansas City Athletics, 6-5. Starting pitcher Sonny Gray was a big reason why. Chris Resop picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Matt Lindstrom was tagged with the loss. Doug Capilla recorded the save, his 1st.
Glenn Beckert hit a bases-clearing double off Matt Lindstrom in the bottom of the eighth, which put the Browns in front, 6-3. In addition to the double, Beckert had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Beckert said after the game.
Kansas City falls to 7-9.
