Hughes, now 4-0, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 5, walking 0, and allowing 2 runs. Earning his 5th save of the year was John W Morris.
Bob L Johnson helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a run-scoring single to give Boston a 1-0 lead.
"We did a lot of things right," said Johnson.
The Black Yankees drop to 9-10 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2005 season.
