Senators Prevail, 7-5, Over Caribou
The home crowd had a good time watching the Caribou Caribou and Washington Senators get after it.

The Washington Senators weathered an outstanding game by Caribou left fielder Greg Durgin to topple the Caribou, 7-5. Durgin was 1-3 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Washington pitcher Jack Fisher got the win, upping his record to 1-0. Nolan Ryan got the loss. Jumbo Brown earned the save, his 4th.

With Washington trailing 5-4 and a runner on 1st, the Senators struck gold when second baseman Xander Bogaerts turned a first pitch fastball from Caribou hurler Nolan Ryan into his 4th home run of the season. The hit scored 2 and put Washington up, 6-5.

"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Bogaerts.

Washington goes to 9-10.
