Senators Win at Yokohama, 7-4 | The Washington Senators trumped the Yokohama Dodgers, 7-4, at Kanagawa Prefecture Park. Washington second baseman Xander Bogaerts was terrific. He went 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Washington reliever Ryne Duren picked up the win, upping his record to 1-2. Dave LaPoint was saddled with the loss. Jumbo Brown collected his 5th save.
In the top of the first, Bogaerts pounced on a 1-0 slider from Dave LaPoint and hit a 2-run home run. It put Washington on top, 2-0.
"I just try to bring what I bring to this team," said Bogaerts.
