| Stars Down Angels, 5-4 | Behind a solid performance from left fielder Kyle Schwarber, the Detroit Stars defeated the Los Angeles Angels, 5-4. Schwarber was 3 for 6 with a home run, a triple, and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Stars. Detroit reliever Al Hollingsworth picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Lou Pote absorbed the loss. Detroit, now 12-7, has played well in the early going.
With the game on the line, Alex Rodriguez came to bat in the bottom of the 12th. And the Detroit shortstop came through, cracking a run-scoring single off Lou Pote, the Los Angeles pitcher.
"This place sure got loud," said David Mollicone, the Detroit manager.
