Stars Rally For Late Win Over Angels
The Detroit Stars took Los Angeles pitcher Jerry Reuss's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Tiger Stadium. The final score had Detroit getting past the Angels, 7-5. Reuss went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 5. The victory makes Detroit 13-8.

A crucial at-bat came with the bases loaded and one out in the bottom of the seventh inning. That's when pinch hitter Orlando Merced, the 6th overall pick in the 2003 draft, hit a sacrifice fly. The Stars went on to win.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Detroit manager David Mollicone.
