5-Hit Game for Santop | Milwaukee catcher Louis Santop went down swinging at Wrigley Field (LA) today, knocking out 5 hits even as his Bears fell, 8-7.
"It was like I was hitting Little League pitching," Santop said after his 5-for-5 performance against the Los Angeles Angels. "No offense meant to Los Angeles, but it was like I was back in little league again -- I could see the ball that well."
After the game, his manager elaborated on the catcher's improvements, saying Santop spent the offseason trying to shorten his swing and stay inside the ball.
"That's what I'm trying to do," Santop agreed. "Be quick to the ball and let it travel a little farther so I get a better look at it."
Louis Santop singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
This year Santop has hit at a .436 clip with 34 hits, 7 home runs, 15 RBIs and 18 runs scored. | | | | |
