| Senators Lose to Angels, 7-2 | The Los Angeles Angels defeated the Washington Senators, 7-2, in Junior Circuit action at Wrigley Field (LA). Los Angeles pitcher Jerry Reuss had a standout performance. The winning pitcher was Reuss, now 10-10. He tossed 5 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 5. Hooks Wiltse earned his 1st save in 1 chances.
Felipe Alou put Los Angeles in front, 6-0, when he took Wayne LaMaster downtown. His 3-run home run came with no one out in the bottom of the first. It was his 8th home run of the season.
Reuss called the win "a collective effort."
