6-3 Loss to Bears Extends Kansas City Losing Streak | The Kansas City Monarchs got a superb performance from center fielder Al Kaline, but the Milwaukee Bears still won the game, 6-3. Kaline slugged 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Jim Bruske converted his 18th save in 23 tries. Milwaukee raised its record to 78-58 with the win.
Milwaukee used the timely hitting of Todd Zeile to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Bears ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"There were things that we could've improved upon," said Bears manager Tyler Benning, "but all in all, I'm satisfied with our performance." | | | | |
