| Athletics Win Thriller, 4-3 | The Kansas City Athletics did just enough to sneak past the Yokohama Dodgers, 4-3, at The Big Green A. Kansas City pinch hitter Joe Grace, in particular, had a standout performance. Sparky Lyle, now 3-0, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 1 and walking 0. Kansas City has a record of 60-76, placing them third in the Junior Circuit Fernando.
The game came to a dramatic end. In the bottom of the ninth, with Kansas City trailing 3-1, Grace hit a fastball from Greg Maddux for a 3-run home run, giving the Athletics the walk-off win.
