Dodgers Lose to Monarchs, 4-1 | Kansas City Monarchs starter Shawn Estes turned in an exceptional performance against the Yokohama Dodgers at Buck O'Neil Yard, resulting in a Kansas City win, 4-1. Bill Stoneman recorded the save, his 3rd. The loss puts Yokohama at 12-16.
With runs few and far between, the Monarchs had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for Kansas City came in the bottom of the fifth inning, when catcher Admiral Schlei delivered a run-scoring single. The single was hit off Adam Eaton and made the score 1-0, Monarchs. Schlei was 1 for 3.
