| Black Yankees Hand Federals 9-2 Loss | The New York Black Yankees picked up a win at Wrigley Field, knocking off the Chicago Federals, 9-2. Starting pitcher Alex Cobb played a key role in the triumph. Chicago falls to 14-17.
New York used a well-timed hit by Terry Turner to capture the win. The second baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Black Yankees ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Cobb said.
