Caribou Shut Out Athletics, 3-0 | The Caribou Caribou picked up a win at Dead River Aroostookdome, knocking off the Kansas City Athletics, 3-0. Starting pitcher Tom Bradley played a key role in the triumph. In 7.2 innings, Bradley surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. Terry Leach converted his 29th save in 37 tries.
The Caribou got an important contribution from center fielder Magglio Ordonez, who in the bottom of the fourth knocked a 2-2 fastball into right for a 2-run double. It was his 19th double of the season and put the Caribou ahead, 3-0.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Ordonez said.
