| Eagles Turn Back Yokohama, 7-5 | Despite a great performance by Yokohama right fielder Hector Cruz, the Houston Eagles defeated the Dodgers by the score of 7-5 at Buffalo Stadium. Cruz was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Tom Griffin came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 3.1 innings. His record now stands at 3-1. Takashi Saito recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 34 for 39.
Bill Monroe helped his team take an early lead with a 2-run single. It came in the first inning, making the score 3-0, Eagles.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Monroe.
The victory gives Houston a record of 86-66.
