Monarchs Deal Americans 4-2 Loss | Kansas City rode a fine outing from starter Tim Keefe to victory over the Boston Americans at Fenway Park II. The final score was 4-2. Keefe got the win, improving to 16-9. He allowed 5 hits and walked 2 over 6.1 innings. Keefe allowed 1 run. Bill Stoneman was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 41 of 54 save opportunities.
Kansas City used the bat of Fred H Thomas to get the win. The third baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Monarchs ahead, 4-1. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Thomas.
