| McHenry, Americans Beat Monarchs, 6-3 | A 3-RBI performance from Austin McHenry, who is a two-time All-Star, helped the Boston Americans beat the Kansas City Monarchs, 6-3. John W Morris got credit for the win, improving to 6-5. He allowed no runs on 3 hits in 1.2 innings. The first-place Americans, at 80-77, now lead their division by 4 games.
The result might have been different for Boston, had it not been for Jud Wilson, the former first overall pick . Wilson stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the eighth inning to put Boston up, 6-3. For the game, he had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Wilson. "And not try to do too much."
