| Black Barons Lose to American Giants, 6-3 | The Chicago American Giants picked up a win at Rube Foster Park, knocking off the Birmingham Black Barons, 6-3. Starting pitcher Jerry Koosman played a key role in the triumph. Koosman, now 10-6, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 4, walking 0, and allowing 3 runs. With the win, Chicago raised its record to 87-71.
Early in the game, left fielder Domingo Santana had a 3-run home run for Chicago. It was his 17th home run of the season and put the American Giants on top, 3-0.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Santana said after the game.
