Americans Prevail, 3-2, Over Milwaukee | The Boston Americans reigned over the Milwaukee Bears in damp conditions.
The Milwaukee Bears got a sterling performance from pitcher Robin Roberts, but the Boston Americans still prevailed, 3-2. Roberts threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball. Boston reliever John W Morris picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Robin Roberts took the loss.
Boston capitalized on an error in the bottom of the seventh inning. Boston was trailing 2-1 when Joe L Morgan hit a 2-run single that was misplayed. It put Boston in front, 3-2.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Boston manager Ice Chamberlin said.
