Bears Sneak Past Americans, 2-1 | The Milwaukee Bears beat the Boston Americans, 2-1. Milwaukee pitcher and The United States, native Don Drysdale led the way. The win belongs to Bill E Donovan in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Johnny Klippstein took the loss for Boston. Milwaukee is in third place in the Senior Circuit SOS with a record of 21-22.
Milwaukee used the clutch hitting of Louis Santop to capture the win. The catcher drilled a solo home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Bears ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Drysdale said. | | | | |
