Chicago Downs St. Louis, 4-2 | The Chicago American Giants topped the St. Louis Browns, 4-2, in Senior Circuit action at Sportsman's Park. The standout performance belonged to Chicago pitcher and Oshkosh, Wisconsin, native Billy Hoeft. Hoeft got the win, improving to 5-6. He allowed 7 hits and walked 1 over 6.1 innings. Hoeft allowed 1 run. The last-place American Giants lifted their record to 20-24.
In the top of the first, Del Ennis ambushed a 1-0 fastball from Kyle Gibson and hit a 2-run home run. It gave Chicago a quick 2-0 lead.
