The Milwaukee Bears defeated the Caribou Caribou, 4-3, at Dead River Aroostookdome. Milwaukee second baseman Ryne Sandberg had a superb performance. He went 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. The winning pitcher was Willie Foster. He's now 7-2. He went 7 innings, allowing 2 runs on 9 hits for the Bears. The last-place Caribou have lost 7 straight games.

In the top of the eighth, the Bears grabbed the lead when Sandberg hit his 7th home run of the season. The 3-run home run off Tom Snow made it 4-1, Milwaukee.

"I'm proud of the way we took care of business and got the 'W' today," Sandberg told the Milwaukee Herald. "Whatever it takes."
