Black Barons Advance to World Series | The Birmingham Black Barons have beaten the Chicago American Giants in the League Championship Series, despite a strong performance from American Giants right fielder Del Ennis.
Ennis was given MVP honors for his performance even though his team came out on the losing end of the series.
"It's a good news, bad news thing I guess," he said. "Unfortunately the bad news is really bad -- our season is over."
Birmingham won the final game by a score of 2-0 at Rube Foster Park and took the series 4-2.
The Birmingham Black Barons don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the New York Black Yankees - Washington Senators series. New York leads the series 3 games to 2. The World Series is scheduled to begin on October 24th, 2004. | | | | |
