Bumgarner Spins 4-0 Shutout | It wasn't easy but the Yokohama Dodgers made it look that way.
Starter Madison Bumgarner shut out the Kansas City Monarchs despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Yokohama Dodgers cruised to victory, 4-0. Bumgarner allowed only 5 hits and rang up 4 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win.
"It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up."
This season to date Bumgarner has a record of 5 wins and 4 losses with a 4.04 ERA, has appeared in 14 games and struck out 47 in 100.1 innings. | | | | |
