| 9-3 Loss Extends Kansas City Losing Streak | Houston third baseman Bill Monroe played a vital role in his team's 9-3 triumph over Kansas City. He was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for Houston. The Eagles, at 30-21, have now won 4 straight.
With Houston leading 5-2 in the bottom of the seventh, Monroe hit a changeup from Sonny Siebert for a grand slam home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Eagles ahead, 9-2.
"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Houston manager Charles Wolfson.
