Federals Roll to 12-3 Win Over Athletics | The Chicago Federals beat the Kansas City Athletics, 12-3, at Wrigley Field. He pitched 5.2 innings, giving up 5 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 6 and walking 1. Chicago now sits at 24-29, while Kansas City falls to 22-30.
Bob Gibson was a prime contributor to the Chicago win. He threw 5 innings allowing 3 runs. In the bottom of the second with two out, the 25-year old right-handed pitcher hit a 2-run single. It made the score 2-0, in favor of the Federals.
