Black Barons Earn 3-2 Win Against Senators | There was no shortage of dramatics at Rickwood Field.
Birmingham Black Barons starter Al Leiter was in fine form against the Washington Senators at Rickwood Field, leading his team to a win, 3-2. Birmingham pitcher Jim Mecir got the win, upping his record to 3-2. Jack Aker got the loss.
Ken Retzer electrified the crowd in the bottom of the 13th when he took Washington pitcher Jack Aker deep. His solo home run sent the Black Barons home winners.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Birmingham skipper Timothy Keene.
