Browns Win, 4-2, at Chicago | St. Louis and Chicago put this game in the books despite some rain.
The St. Louis Browns picked up a win at Wrigley Field, knocking off the Chicago Federals, 4-2. Starting pitcher Kyle Gibson played a key role in the triumph. Gibson picked up the win for St. Louis, going 6.2 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 2-2.
St. Louis used the bat of Mike Colbern to capture the win. The catcher jacked a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Browns ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a dandy.
"It was a good effort all around," said Gibson.
St. Louis has now won 3 in a row. | | | | |
