| Red Sox Earn 2-1 Win Against Senators | Another game, another loss for the struggling Washington Senators.
The Washington Senators went down to defeat to Ralph Branca and his Memphis teammates. The final score was 2-1 in favor of the Red Sox. The Senators, now 22-33, have lost 11 in a row.
The Red Sox procured the win, in large part because of right fielder Monte Irvin. In the bottom of the tenth, he produced the game-winning run-scoring double.
Irvin called the win the result of "everyone working in tandem."
