Black Yankees RF Musial goes 4-for-6 in Win | A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the New York Black Yankees and Yokohama Dodgers.
New York right fielder Stan Musial contributed to his team's 12-4 win over the Yokohama Dodgers. Musial, who finished 5th in the AL in slugging percentage with .559 in 2002, went 4 for 6 with 3 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Black Yankees. Dennis Lamp earned the win to go to 5-5. He allowed 2 runs on 2 hits, with 2 walks and 2 strikeouts in 7 innings of work.
In the top of the third, Musial had one of his most important at-bats: a run-scoring single off Adam Eaton that staked the Black Yankees to a 2-1 lead.
"It was our day today," Musial told the New York Chronicle. "But we've got to keep our nose to the grindstone."
New York has now won 4 games in a row. | | | | |
