| Donaldson Hits 2 home runs in Caribou Win | The Caribou Caribou topped the Birmingham Black Barons, 6-1, with third baseman Josh Donaldson playing a big role. Donaldson slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Caribou in the win. Picking up the win was Orval Overall. He went 8 innings, allowing 1 run on 4 hits. The right--hander struck out 3 and walked 3. The second-place Caribou lifted their record to 25-30.
In the top of the first, Donaldson pounced on a 1-2 screwball from Garland Braxton and hit a 2-run home run. It put Caribou on top, 2-0.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Donaldson.
