| Jones Leads Black Yankees to Win | New York left fielder Chipper Jones helped his team beat the Caribou Caribou, 4-1. Jones, who finished 3rd in the AL in slugging percentage with .530 last year, went 4 for 4 for the Black Yankees. The win was credited to Pete Schourek in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Greg Maddux took the loss. The defeat makes Caribou 5-1.
Jones had a critical at-bat in the bottom of the seventh for New York, coming through with a 2-run single to put New York in front, 3-1.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Jones said.
