| Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Dodgers | Yokohama and St. Louis duked it out and the Dodgers came out victorious.
The St. Louis Browns got a superb performance from pitcher Sonny Gray, but the Yokohama Dodgers still won the game, 5-2. Gray threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball. Yokohama is now 25-32, St. Louis 34-22.
Yokohama got the win thanks to a clutch hit from Jack Howell. The designated hitter stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Dodgers ahead, 5-2. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it had a major impact on the outcome.
"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Howell told the Yokohama Bulletin.
