Wynn Gets 5 Hits | No matter what the Washington Senators threw at him today, Jim Wynn hit it. He easily handled Senators pitching, going 5 for 5 and helping the Eagles to a 16-5 triumph at RFK Stadium.
"The way I was swinging today, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball," he told BNN reporters in the postgame interview.
Told of Wynn's quip, Senators skipper Rickie E. Shaw said he "would take him up on that next time."
Jim Wynn hit a solo-shot off Mickey Harris in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and walked in the 9th.
This season Wynn is batting .356 with 14 home runs. His totals include 41 RBIs and 46 runs scored. | | | | |
