Caribou Win, 2-1, at Chicago | The Caribou Caribou and Chicago Federals put on a pitchers' duel.
The Caribou Caribou picked up a win at Wrigley Field, knocking off the Chicago Federals, 2-1. Starting pitcher Tom Bradley was a big reason why. Bradley got the win, improving to 8-4. He allowed 3 hits and walked 2 over 6.2 innings. Bradley allowed 1 run. Terry Leach was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 8 of 11 save opportunities.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Magglio Ordonez? The Caribou right fielder had a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put the Caribou on top, 2-0. For the game, Ordonez had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"You win some, you lose some. I don't get too caught up in all that," said Ordonez.
The last-place Federals have dropped 4 straight games. | | | | |
