| Browns Deal Senators 3-2 Loss | St. Louis Browns starter Cliff P Lee hurled his team past the Washington Senators, 3-2. Dave LaRoche was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 1 of 1 save opportunities. The win puts St. Louis at 42-29 this season.
St. Louis used a well-timed hit by Rick Burleson to capture the win. The second baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Browns ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"Nice to tuck this win away," said Burleson.
