Foster, the winner, moves to 10-4. He threw 7.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up 1 walk. Milwaukee raised its record to 39-34 with the win.
The Bears got a big hit from first baseman Todd Zeile. In the bottom of the seventh, Zeile smacked a 2-run home run off Detroit pitcher Al Hollingsworth. It was his 8th home run of the season. Suddenly, the Bears were ahead, 3-2.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Zeile said.
