Great Effort by Swisher Wasted in 16-9 Bears Loss
Milwaukee right fielder Nick Swisher had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Swisher went 2 for 2 with 2 home runs and 3 walks, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2, even as St. Louis beat the Bears, 16-9. The loss makes Milwaukee 2-5.

The Browns extended their lead in the bottom of the third. With one out and the bases loaded, Mickey Hatcher grounded out, driving in 1 run to make it 6-4, St. Louis.

"The clubhouse can get insufferable after we lose, so I'm glad we pulled this one out today," Hatcher told the St. Louis Times.
