| Angels Score Late, Upend Stars, 3-2 | Los Angeles picked up a win at Wrigley Field (LA), bumping off the Detroit Stars, 3-2. Pitcher Tim Keefe was a major reason the Angels emerged victorious. Felix Hernandez earned his 16th save in 20 chances. The Angels raised their record to 31-49.
Julian Javier contributed a productive at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With a runner on 1st, he hit a single. It was one at-bat that helped Los Angeles get the win.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Los Angeles skipper Neil F. Lewis.
