| Milwaukee Beats New York, 6-4 | The Milwaukee Bears topped the New York Black Yankees by a score of 6-4. Leading the way was center fielder Jim Edmonds. Edmonds was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Bears. Earning the save was Jim Bruske. He's now cashed in 11 of 15 save opportunities. With the win, Milwaukee upped its record to 44-38.
Milwaukee took a 5-1 lead on Edmonds's 20th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which he hit off Kid Nichols in the top of the sixth, propelled Milwaukee to the win.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Edmonds said.
