| Stars Slap 4-1 Loss on Dodgers | The Detroit Stars defeated the Yokohama Dodgers, 4-1, in Senior Circuit action at Kanagawa Prefecture Park. Detroit pitcher Bob Ojeda had a standout performance. Detroit raised its record to 46-38 with the win.
Tied up with the Dodgers in the top of the fifth inning, the Stars got a boost from first baseman Mule Suttles. With the bases loaded, Suttles saw a 2-1 circle change from Greg Maddux and hit a 2-run single to break the stalemate and put Detroit on top, 3-1.
"It was a solid team effort," said Suttles after the game.
