Black Barons Lose to Federals, 6-1 | The home crowd had a good time watching the Birmingham Black Barons and Chicago Federals get after it.
The Chicago Federals went home winners at Wrigley Field, thanks in large part to starter Don Liddle. Liddle stifled the Birmingham Black Barons, enabling Chicago to grab the 6-1 win. The winning pitcher was Liddle, now 3-1. He tossed 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 4.
The Federals picked up the win with a combination of good hitting and good pitching.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Birmingham manager Timothy Keene. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
The Federals improve their record to 41-46 with the win over Birmingham. | | | | |
