| Eagles Beat American Giants, 3-2 | The Chicago American Giants and Houston Eagles provided some drama for the home crowd.
Eddie Rommel pitched well, but the Chicago American Giants still lost the game, falling 3-2 to the Houston Eagles at Buffalo Stadium. Takashi Saito was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 26 of 27 save opportunities.
Had Michael Brantley not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Brantley hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Eagles.
"We squandered some opportunities," said Chicago manager Matt Reynolds.
The triumph puts Houston at 53-33 for the season.
