| Senators Lose to Caribou, 6-3 | The Caribou Caribou picked up a win at Dead River Aroostookdome, knocking off the Washington Senators, 6-3. Starting pitcher Al Gerheauser was a big reason why. In 6 innings, Gerheauser surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 4. He allowed 1 run. Earning the save was Tom Snow. He's now cashed in 6 of 9 save opportunities.
In the bottom of the second, Caribou second baseman Buddy Myer had a run-producing at-bat. Facing Washington hurler Smokey Joe Williams, Myer reached on an error by the C, driving in 2 runs. That made the score 3-0, Caribou. For the day, Myer went 1 for 4 with a walk, while scoring 2 times.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Gerheauser.
At 42-48, the Caribou claim second place in the Junior Circuit Fernando.
