| Black Yankees Deal Angels 7-2 Defeat | New York starter Dennis Lamp had a strong outing against the Los Angeles Angels at Wrigley Field (LA). The right-hander was a big part of his team's 7-2 win. Lamp, now 10-6, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 3, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. New York is second in the Junior Circuit Waterloo with a record of 45-50.
New York used the timely hitting of Terry Turner to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Black Yankees on top, 4-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We'll savor this win," Lamp told the New York Chronicle, "then get ready for the next game."
