Athletics Deal Senators 3-2 Loss
Kansas City Athletics right-hander Ned Garvin pitched a good game against the Washington Senators at RFK Stadium, leading his team to victory, 3-2. Kansas City is now 45-52, Washington 41-57.

Kansas City got the win thanks to a clutch hit from Jackie Robinson. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Athletics ahead, 3-2. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it had a major impact on the outcome.

"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Washington manager Rickie E. Shaw. "The effort was great."
