Danny Murphy drove in 3 runs to help Kansas City defeat Yokohama, 9-1. The second baseman had 1 double and 2 home runs for the Athletics. Jose de Jesus picked up the win, improving his season record to 5-3. He struck out 6 in 6.1 innings. Kansas City, at 50-58, holds down third place in the Junior Circuit Fernando.

Murphy had a key at-bat for Kansas City early in the game. With a runner on 2nd, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 23rd home run of the season and gave Kansas City an early 2-0 lead.
