The Boston Americans knocked off the Memphis Red Sox, 9-5, at Fenway Park II. Tony R Armas was a big reason Boston won. The center fielder was 3 for 4 with a home run, a triple, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3. Boston goes to 61-49. The win puts them 8 games up in their division.
In the bottom of the first, Bob L Johnson hit a 2-run double. The 21st double of the season for the Boston right fielder put the Americans on top, 2-1.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Johnson told the Boston Today.
