Mantle Delivers Walk-Off Win for Senators | The Boston Americans got a sterling performance from pitcher Johnny Klippstein, but the Washington Senators still prevailed, 1-0. Klippstein threw 5 innings of shutout ball. At 50-69, the Senators find themselves in last place in the Junior Circuit Fernando.
The clutch hit was provided by Mickey Mantle. He delivered a walk-off run-scoring single off John W Morris in the bottom of the 12th.
