Tony R Armas was instrumental in his team's 8-2 triumph over the Washington Senators. The center fielder was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Boston Americans. Picking up the win was German Marquez. He went 7.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits. The right--hander struck out 4 and walked 1. With the victory, the Americans upped their record to 65-56.

Armas contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Boston in the top of the second. With his team trailing 1-0, Armas took a changeup from Smokey Joe Williams and stroked the home run to center. His 23rd home run of the season allowed the Americans to leap in front, 2-1.
